From May 1 next year, the use of ultra-thin plastic bags and disposable items in Beijing will be restricted, and units and residents will face penalties for non-enforcement of garbage classification.

明年5月1日起，超薄塑料袋、一次性用品在北京的使用将受限，单位和居民不执行垃圾分类将面临处罚。

On November 27, the 16th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 15th National People's Congress of the Municipal People's Congress voted and approved the Beijing Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee's decision to amend the "Regulations on the Management of Beijing Municipal Solid Waste". The revised "Regulations on the Management of Domestic Waste in Beijing" put forward higher requirements for the classification of domestic waste and will be implemented from May 1, 2020.

11月27日，市十五届人大常委会第16次会议表决通过北京市人大常委会关于修改《北京市生活垃圾管理条例》的决定。修改后的《北京市生活垃圾管理条例》对生活垃圾分类提出更高要求，将于2020年5月1日起施行。
